Maintenance Electrician Job Description

VickerStock is seeking a skilled Maintenance Electrician to join their team at one of their sites in Dungannon. As a Maintenance Electrician, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the plant's facilities and services, including compressed air, steam, refrigeration, and the effluent plant.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Complete electro-mechanical repairs to food processing, handling, and packaging equipment
  • Provide technical support for the plant facilities and services
  • Input into the computer system and carry out preventive maintenance routines and work instructions
  • Fault finding and updating the preventative maintenance management system
  • Ensure all parts are promptly ordered as required
  • Responsible for completion of all planned maintenance routines both inside and outside of normal hours as required
  • Utilization of all resources such as manuals, service contracts, and external contractors to aid in breakdown recovery
  • Supervision of contractors and acting as liaison person when required
  • Observing all on-site and legislative rules and regulations in terms of health and safety, food safety, and environmental
Requirements:
  • Experience with both electrical and mechanical maintenance within an automated manufacturing environment, ideally with some experience with PLC's
  • Must possess a multi-skilled cross-skilled ethos with an electrical/electronic bias
  • Electrical and mechanical process awareness, diagnostics, trouble-shooting experience gained in a high-volume food or beverage processing environment
  • Relevant electrician qualification
  • Experience of working in a high-volume, automated manufacturing environment
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Open to new ideas/work practices with an understanding of the principles and tools of a lean manufacturing environment
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Excellent fault-finding skills
  • Computer literate
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
