The Vacancy

Liberty Speciality Steels is seeking an experienced Mechanical Technician to join our team. As a Mechanical Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our rolling mill and associated plant and equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver and follow routine planned maintenance schedules
  • Report on duties and respond to breakdowns
  • Ensure high standards of health and safety
  • Develop and initiate process improvements
  • Work as part of a team to achieve departmental objectives and targets

Requirements

  • Recognised Mechanical apprenticeship (HNC/ONC level or equivalent)
  • Mechanical experience of heavy manufacturing industry and use of mechanical equipment, specialist tools, lifting equipment
  • Basic hydraulic, welding and pipefitting
  • Previous experience of Mechanical maintenance of handling equipment, pumps and pipework systems
  • Previous experience of PPM and reporting of PPM activities and breakdowns
  • Previous experience of maintenance of Gearbox's and coupling systems
  • Experience of working in confined spaces and at heights
  • A good understanding and knowledge of Health Safety Legislation

This is a day shift role, 8am - 4pm, including weekends.
