Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Yard Operative to join our team at First Fence. As a key member of our depot operations, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and safe operation of our outdoor areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Health and Safety: Adhere to all health and safety regulations, policies, and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Goods Handling: Load, unload, and move goods using manual handling or forklift trucks, ensuring accurate stock levels and efficient operations.
  • Stock Management: Store and retrieve goods in designated areas, maintaining accurate stock levels and ensuring a productive work environment.
  • Yard Maintenance: Maintain a clean and tidy yard, removing debris and ensuring proper storage to prevent accidents and damage.
  • Vehicle Operations: Safely operate forklift trucks and other yard machinery, adhering to manufacturer guidelines and company policies.
  • Order Fulfilment: Pick, pack, and load orders accurately and efficiently, meeting customer expectations and company standards.
  • Documentation: Complete all required paperwork, including manifests, delivery notes, and stock records, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Quality Control: Inspect goods for damage and ensure products meet quality standards, maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Conduct daily forklift checks, refuel, and report equipment defects, ensuring optimal equipment performance and safety.
Requirements
  • FLT License: Essential for operating forklift trucks and other yard machinery.
  • Driving Licence: Essential for occasional driving to deliver customer orders.
  • Physical Condition: Good physical condition to handle heavy loads and work in a fast-paced environment.
