About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Fitter to join our team at Z-Tech Control Systems. As a Mechanical Fitter, you will play a crucial role in the installation and maintenance of mechanical equipment at our power generation facilities in the Midlands.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out installation and maintenance works on plant equipment, including critical works on site turbines.
  • Hold experience with Rotalign equipment and the process of alignment.
  • Carry out pipework assembly on auxiliary systems.
  • Assist the on-site mechanical team with coupling and fastening of turbines to auxiliary equipment.
  • Assist the on-site mechanical team with installation/overhaul of turbines (Rotor removal and installation, re-installation of turbine casings, installation of burner systems).
Requirements
  • Previous fitter experience.
  • Trained or qualified as an apprentice or to an equivalent NVQ level 3 in Mechanical.
  • Knowledge of mechanical assemblies and working to Standard Operation Procedures.
  • Excellent attention to detail to assemble components to high precision and fit limits.
  • Assembly of pipework systems and Swagelok products, holding of Swagelok Installation Card is advantageous.
  • Strong safety and quality driven mind set and collaborative teamwork approach.
  • Methodology of turbine systems.
