About the Role

Enable Leisure & Culture is seeking a skilled Mental Health Exercise Specialist to join our Active Wellbeing Programme team. The successful candidate will work closely with clients diagnosed with severe mental illnesses, providing personalized exercise support and promoting overall wellbeing.

Main Responsibilities
  • Deliver a 10-week, 1:1 personal training programme to clients with severe mental health illnesses.
  • Attend initial and final assessment meetings for each client assigned to the Active Wellbeing programme.
  • Ensure the service meets the required standards, adhering to organisational, government, and governing body regulations.
  • Administer weekly one-hour exercise sessions, adjusting intensity and type as needed for each client.
  • Engage in client assessments prior to and beyond the 10-week programme, designing individualised exercise plans and monitoring client progress.
Requirements
  • Level 3 personal training certification.
  • At least 2 years' experience in delivering face-to-face personal training or physical activity support.
  • Familiarity with mental health settings, particularly working with vulnerable groups.
  • Understanding of confidentiality principles and their application in service-user information handling.
  • Possession of a mental health first aid, suicide prevention, or awareness qualification, or willingness to undertake training.
