Design Manager - Internal Products & Platforms

At the Financial Times, we're committed to delivering cutting-edge products to our digital subscribers. As the leader of our Internal Products & Platforms design team, you'll play a crucial role in shaping our product strategy and ensuring high-quality experiences across our entire product portfolio.

As a seasoned Design System champion, you'll collaborate with senior leadership and peers to formulate and communicate a clear vision, strategy, and roadmap for Origami, our design system. You'll drive design system adoption by creating documentation, self-service tools, and contribution models to facilitate and scale design system adoption.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Design system vision and strategy: Collaborate with senior leadership and peers to formulate and communicate a clear vision, strategy, and roadmap for Origami
  • Drive design system adoption: Create documentation, self-service tools, and contribution models to facilitate and scale design system adoption
  • Mentor and coach designers: Help designers improve their design craft by utilising clear design standards set out in the design system
  • Team leadership: Collaborate with Product and Tech partners to plan and shape current and future initiatives, deploying your team to maximum effect

We're looking for a seasoned Design System champion with multi-brand experience, demonstrable examples of enabling career progression, and a User Experience advocate who's comfortable taking decisive action when required. If you're an expert collaborator who's great at relationship building and stakeholder management, and a B2B enthusiast who recognises the power of Internal Products in relation to a broader Product portfolio, we'd love to hear from you.
