Job Description

Commerzbank AG, a leading corporate banking and capital markets organisation, is seeking an exceptional Cloud Platform Engineer Intern to join their team in London.

Main Responsibilities:

The Market Data cluster plays a pivotal role in sourcing, distribution, and provision of market data within Commerzbank. As a Cloud Platform Engineer Intern, you will be responsible for actively managing vendors, licenses, and requirements, as well as implementing market data platforms and services to drive process automation and significant cost reductions without negatively impacting business capabilities.

Critical to this role is close collaboration with all business areas to understand market data requirements, providers, services, and delivery channels. You will optimise Market Data Connectivity to meet business needs based on latency, bandwidth, and cost, while continuously expanding market data monitoring to identify inefficiencies such as duplication, unnecessary, or unused licenses.

This role involves working closely with the operations team to build and maintain the existing Market Data suite of applications and automate operational processes.

We are looking for outstanding technologists with a strong background in Computer Science or similar fields. Our teams are small, collaborative, and multi-disciplinary, offering complete responsibility for the work assigned. This allows our engineers to work closely with colleagues at all levels in the bank to achieve desired outcomes.

The ideal candidate should have graduated in the last 12 months, possess a degree in Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Econometrics, or a similar quantitative discipline, and have achieved a minimum 2.1 UK bachelors degree (or equivalent). Additionally, they should have knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word, strong verbal and written communication skills, fluency in English, experience with development languages such as Java and Python, relational databases, and cloud platforms.

Estimated Annual Salary: £35,000 - £45,000

Key Requirements:

  • Graduated in the last 12 months.
  • Educated to degree level in Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Econometrics, or similar highly quantitative discipline.
  • Expected to or have achieved a minimum 2.1 UK bachelors degree (or equivalent).
  • Minimum 320 UCAS points (or equivalent).
  • Some business within Financial Services.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (especially Excel and Word).
  • Team player.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Fluent English.
  • Experience of development languages such as Java and Python.
  • Experience of relational databases.
  • Knowledge of Cloud platforms.
