**Field Service Engineer Job Description**

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Field Service Engineer to join our team at Finning (UK) Ltd.

As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing Caterpillar products on customer sites, providing comprehensive detail about the nature of the problem to the customer and Finning.

You will work autonomously, using your own initiative, as well as part of a team, to identify the parts required to carry out the repair and requisition any necessary parts.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Provide an estimate of arrival time at customer's site in response to service request based on the job instructions from Branch.
  • Identify the parts required to carry out the repair and requisition any parts and determine expected time of delivery.
  • Undertake repair and service work on the machine to the agreed work plan, removing and despatching components for specialist attention and re-installing the original or replacement.

**Requirements:**

  • Knowledge in the use of field-based diagnosis tools and equipment essential.
  • Heavy Earth Moving equipment operating knowledge.
  • LDV driving licence.
  • Apprentice trained engineer or formally trained (NVQ Level 3 preferred) and served as a service engineer for a significant period.
