Senior Android Developer

Brio Digital is partnering with a leading financial services company to expand their mobile engineering capabilities.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Android Developer to collaborate with their team in building a cutting-edge mobile retail banking application.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in Android development, with expertise in Kotlin and/or Java, and a solid understanding of Android SDK and development tools.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain robust Android applications for the banking sector.
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to deliver seamless user experiences.
  • Implement and maintain secure, efficient, and scalable code using Kotlin or Java.
  • Work with RESTful APIs to integrate with backend services.
  • Ensure the quality and performance of applications through comprehensive testing and performance tuning.
  • Automate and optimize the development process using CI/CD pipelines.
  • Stay up to date with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices in mobile development and banking applications.
  • Contribute to all phases of the development lifecycle, from concept to deployment.

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in Kotlin and/or Java.
  • Strong knowledge of Android SDK and Android development tools.
  • Experience with RESTful APIs and integrating mobile applications with backend services.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, or CircleCI.
  • Understanding of secure coding practices, particularly in the context of financial applications.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Experience with modern Android architectures (e.g., MVVM, Clean Architecture).
  • Familiarity with mobile app security frameworks and best practices.
  • Knowledge of automated testing frameworks for Android (e.g., Espresso, JUnit).
  • Previous experience in agile development environments.
