About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Electrical Engineer to join our small and thriving building services consultancy, based in between Plymouth and Exeter. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing electrical systems for various sectors, including data centres, high-end residential, education, healthcare, and leisure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Engage with clients from multiple projects at various stages, providing expert advice and guidance.
  • Supervise the production of drawings in 2D and 3D design using AutoCAD/Revit, ensuring accuracy and quality.
  • Collaborate with design teams and clients during the design phase of projects, ensuring effective communication and project delivery.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, ensuring seamless project execution.
  • Manage project finances, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery.
  • Monitor project progress, taking a leading role in client communication and team management.
Requirements
  • Chartered engineer status is highly desirable.
  • A minimum of 8+ years' experience in designing electrical systems for buildings.
  • Strong experience in managing clients and leading projects.
  • Able to lead projects with a view to increasing management and leadership responsibilities.
  • Proficient in software such as Amtech, AutoCAD, Revit, IES, or Dialux.
  • Interest in responding to the climate emergency.
