About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and committed Ophthalmologist to fill the position of Fellow in Paediatric Ophthalmology. This is a new role within our department, offering an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development and growth of our Paediatric Ophthalmology Service.
As a key member of our team, you will collaborate with clinical staff and various partners, including A&E Departments, Optometrists, General Practitioners (GPs), Nurses, and Integrated Care Board Managers. Your expertise and skills will be instrumental in enhancing our already established sub-specialty in Paediatric Ophthalmology.
The Ophthalmology service operates across three Trust sites: Doncaster Royal Infirmary, Montagu Hospital in Mexborough, and Bassetlaw Hospital. While we encourage minimizing split site working within the same day, your individual job plan will be reviewed and agreed upon annually.
Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with our clinical team and partners to research, design, and deliver the Paediatric Ophthalmology Service.
- Provide exceptional clinical care to patients in your charge.
- Collaborate closely with consultant colleagues to ensure the smooth functioning of the department.
- Contribute to the development and growth of our Paediatric Ophthalmology sub-specialty.
Qualifications and Experience
- MBChB/MBBS or equivalent qualification.
- MRCOphth Part 1 or equivalent.
- MRCOphth Part 3 or equivalent.
- Minimum of three years of full-time postgraduate training in Ophthalmology and one year of experience in Paediatric Ophthalmology.
Skills and Attributes
- Excellent clinical skills and knowledge in Paediatric Ophthalmology.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
