About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Transportation Coordinator to join our team at Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for planning and coordinating the movement of goods and materials to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement efficient transportation plans to optimize routes and reduce costs.
- Collaborate with internal departments to ensure seamless communication and coordination.
- Manage driver hours, including start/finish times and route optimization.
- Ensure adequate resources are available, including drivers and transportation methods.
- Communicate effectively with third-party sub-contractors.
- Demonstrate good knowledge of planning systems and processes.
- Process departmental documentation and drivers' paperwork.
- Respond to queries and requests in a timely and professional manner.
Requirements
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in a similar role within a global company, focusing on logistics and transportation management.
