An exceptional opportunity has emerged to become a vital member of a dedicated team as a Medical Imaging Transfer Coordinator. The selected individual will join a compact group that plays a crucial role in facilitating decision-making processes in both urgent and scheduled care, as well as assisting patients in their transitions to other healthcare facilities as part of their treatment plans. This essential position is situated within the Information Management and Technology Directorate, concentrating on the accessibility of medical imaging services for the organization and the broader healthcare community.
The University Hospitals of North Midlands Trust serves as a tertiary center for numerous medical services, catering to patients from a diverse geographical region.
In addition to the numerous advantages of employment within the NHS, the Medical Imaging Transfer Team also engages in a flexible working arrangement, which the successful candidate will be able to enjoy following the completion of initial training.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be required to work a set number of hours per week, Monday through Friday. The primary location for this role is at the Royal Stoke University Hospital; however, there may be rare instances where the candidate will need to rotate to another hospital.
The Medical Imaging Transfer Coordinator is primarily an office-based position that supports the clinical operations of the hospital by ensuring timely access to medical imaging from various sources. The role will involve interaction with a diverse array of healthcare professionals, multidisciplinary team coordinators, and administrative staff from multiple hospitals and healthcare organizations.
Image transfers to and from the Trust are managed through specialized IT systems, and the successful candidate will need to demonstrate proficiency in utilizing several of these systems, with comprehensive training provided.
About the Organization
The University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust is recognized as one of the largest and most advanced healthcare institutions in the country. Serving approximately three million individuals, we are highly esteemed for our facilities, educational programs, and research initiatives.
The Trust operates around 1,450 inpatient beds across two locations, providing emergency care, scheduled surgeries, and medical services from both Royal Stoke University Hospital and County Hospital.
As the designated specialist center for major trauma in the North Midlands and North Wales, we have developed a comprehensive range of professional development programs aimed at ensuring that all staff members have the opportunity to reach their full potential. Our objective is to establish a world-class center of excellence, where patients receive the highest quality of care and the best professionals come to learn, work, and conduct research.
We prioritize the health and well-being of our staff, offering a variety of options to help maintain a healthy work-life balance, including full-time, part-time, and bank hours.
