Your Responsibilities:

As a Mechanical Fitter, you'll be responsible for:

  • Planning and installing all elements of fuel tanks, including tank cleaning.
  • Participating in the decommissioning of fuel tanks and installations.
  • Installing all types of pipe work, including steel pipe, plastic pipe (KPS, DURA, UPP).
  • Carrying out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) tasks and providing specialist input to support the planning of PPM contracts.
  • Supervising and managing a team of technicians when required.
  • Liaising with customers on site to discuss ongoing works and further services.
  • Accurately completing all works paperwork and submitting it in a timely manner.
  • Liaising with supervision regarding all works and recommending improvements.
  • Operating Company vehicles, ensuring all vehicle checks are undertaken prior to commencing any works.
  • Ensuring the security of all Company vehicles and equipment.
  • Checking that all equipment is fit for purpose and used correctly.
  • Working in accordance with Health and Safety requirements and the Group H&S policy.


Qualifications and Skills:

We're looking for a Mechanical Fitter with:

  • Proven ability to carry out key tasks.
  • A wide range of technical knowledge, including experience across several industry sectors.
  • Relevant specialist training, such as OFTEC and/or Fuel Pump Maintenance.
  • Working knowledge of all equipment associated with fuel storage, monitoring, and dispensing.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Evidence of supervision of field staff and subcontractors on site.
  • IT literacy, including Word, Excel, Focal point, and aCloud.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • An ability to adapt during busy times and ensure consistency of service.
  • A flexible schedule and willingness to operate away from home for several days if required.
