We are seeking a highly skilled Portfolio Strategist to join our team at Capital Group International Inc. as a Fixed Income Portfolio Strategist - Emerging Markets. This role will be responsible for driving portfolio strategy management efforts in Capital Fixed Income Investors by contributing to portfolio implementation, strategy development, and process enhancements.
Key Responsibilities- Contribute to the development and implementation of portfolio strategies that align with the company's investment objectives.
- Collaborate with portfolio managers to deliver fixed-income investment strategies to clients in various vehicles, overseeing the vehicles and their outcomes.
- Provide top-down sector expertise to other portfolio strategists and investors.
- Develop and maintain models, theses, and insights to inform top-down strategies.
- Evolve processes for delivering solutions to a wide range of clients.
- Influence others through strong investment ability and effective communication and engagement.
- Express perspectives on portfolio and sector risks.
- Independently construct fixed-income portfolios utilizing strong market, sector, and technical skills.
- Develop portfolios that represent the return and risk profile of related CFII strategies.
- Ensure timely and accurate execution of investment strategies across investment vehicles.
- Represent the team by building partnerships, collaborating across business functions, and representing the team internally and externally.
- Generate portfolio construction ideas.
- Tactically navigate investment guidelines and markets to best represent CFII convictions.
- Navigate complex portfolio construction needs amidst volatile markets, materials flows, and/or material guideline impacts, and overall portfolio optimization.
- Exercise independent decision-making without clear direction from a reference strategy.
- Develop and share market views.
- Contribute to the evolution of the team's capabilities to meet current and future needs.
- 5 to 10+ years of experience in the investment management industry, ideally in an investment strategist or portfolio construction role.
- Bachelor's degree required.
- In-depth knowledge of portfolio construction and buy-side fixed income portfolio management.
- Intellectual curiosity and analytical skills in areas of high complexity, ambiguity, and diversity.
- Ability to collaborate and develop/maintain working relationships inside and outside the organization to enable effective completion of business objectives.
- Sound judgment in resolving complex issues in a practical manner.
- Effective and influential written and oral communication skills with a diverse group of associates and senior business leaders.
In addition to a highly competitive base salary, you will be eligible for an individual annual performance bonus, plus Capital's annual profitability bonus, and a retirement plan where Capital contributes 15% of your eligible earnings.
