We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Security Officer to join our team at the Ministry of Defence. As a Security Officer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and protection of Defence employees, visitors, and property.
Key Responsibilities- Assume overall responsibility for the safety and security of designated areas.
- Patrol designated areas in accordance with outlined security procedures.
- Identify potential security risks and respond accordingly.
- Control vehicular and pedestrian access to site, ensuring all have the correct credentials.
- Search vehicles, baggage, personnel, buildings, and open areas.
- Manage traffic and respond to emergencies and incidents within designated areas.
- Complete incident reports and maintain daily logs.
- Assist employees and visitors with concerns and escalate emergency situations to law enforcement as required.
- Operate and monitor security systems, including CCTV and alarms.
- Communicate effectively over the telephone and/or radio.
- Full UK Manual Driving Licence.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and respond to emergencies.
- Knowledge of security procedures and protocols.
