About the Role:
Balfour Beatty's Ground Engineering business is seeking a highly skilled Senior Geotechnical Design Engineer to join our team. As a senior member of the design team, you will be responsible for developing bids and tenders to secure work for the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop innovative and challenging ground engineering solutions for each bid, maximizing our opportunities, and devising solutions that offer added value to the client while meeting their specifications.
- Ensure compliance with design codes and standards, while supporting junior team members.
- Evaluate project and technical risks associated with the schemes.
- Perform designer risk assessments.
- Understand market design solutions and benchmark our solutions to enhance our success rate.
- Finalize contract designs for submissions to Structural Engineers after contract awards.
Requirements:
- Civil engineering degree or similar.
- Valid CSCS card.
- Experience of designing geotechnical foundations (load bearing pile and retaining walls).
- In-depth technical and market knowledge of Ground Engineering.
