Job Description

Job Title: Head of Year

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and skilled Head of Year to join our team at Aston Education. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the pastoral support for a year group, working closely with form tutors and other internal and external agencies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the strategic development and implementation of pastoral support initiatives to promote student well-being and academic achievement.
  • Collaborate with form tutors and other staff members to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with parents and carers to ensure effective communication and support.
  • Monitor and analyze student progress, identifying areas for improvement and developing targeted interventions.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of school policies and procedures related to student welfare and pastoral care.

Requirements:

  • Qualified teacher status (QTS)
  • Good honours degree in a relevant discipline with relevant teaching qualification
  • Experience of holding a curriculum and/or pastoral responsibility
  • Experience and ability to teach your subject at KS3, KS4 and KS5
  • An outstanding classroom practitioner with an excellent track record of progress and results
  • Proven track record of raising educational standards and achievement
  • Understanding how to analyze and use data effectively
