Job Opportunity

Major Organised Crime Department - Major Investigations Enquiry Team

We are seeking a qualified Detective Constable to join our Major and Organised Crime Department, specifically the Major Investigations Enquiry Team. As a Detective Constable, you will be responsible for conducting investigations into major crimes, including homicides, and working closely with other departments and external partners to gather evidence and bring offenders to justice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough and efficient investigations into major crimes, including homicides
  • Work closely with other departments and external partners to gather evidence and build cases
  • Prepare comprehensive reports for His Majesty's Coroner
  • Support bereaved families and witnesses through long-term investigations and court proceedings
  • Contribute to statutory reviews and crime reviews to identify learning and improve investigative practices

Requirements

  • PIP 2 qualified Detective Constable
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Willingness to undertake training and maintain CPD accreditation
