Role Responsibilities:
As a Graphic Print Specialist at Mint Velvet, you will be responsible for designing and developing prints and graphics that embody the key trends and the ethos of relaxed glamour.
Your role will involve:
- Trend Research and Development:
- Exploring inspiring locations, markets, and print fairs both locally and internationally to gather ideas for print and product innovation.
- Staying updated on current and emerging trends across various media, sharing insights and inspirational materials with the team.
- Contributing to the overall design strategy by providing visuals and trend analysis to shape the seasonal trend narrative.
- Analyzing runway shows to identify key trends and designing Mint Velvet interpretations of these prints.
- Design Responsibilities:
- Delivering seasonal print trends that balance fashion-forwardness with commercial viability, aligned with the brand's aesthetic.
- Creating a diverse range of prints across various categories, ensuring a mix of graphic and painted designs.
- Collaborating with the Design and Buying teams to enhance print offerings and capitalize on best-sellers.
- Regularly reviewing your print range to identify gaps and strategize improvements.
- Developing color boards for print colorations and ensuring their relevance throughout the season.
- Preparing for design brainstorming sessions by curating mood boards that illustrate new trends and print concepts.
- Translating trends into original prints while respecting copyright and design rights.
- Presenting your print vision to management during reviews, advocating for designs you are passionate about.
- Assisting in range preparations by gathering relevant samples and materials.
- Supporting the Design team in maintaining an organized and efficient studio environment.
- Mentoring junior team members, providing guidance and constructive feedback.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in print design within a fashion retail context, with strong technical skills across various techniques.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and extensive knowledge of CAD, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
- A genuine passion for product design, print, and emerging trends, with a proactive approach to seeking inspiration.
- An affinity for our signature 'relaxed glamour' ethos, with the ability to translate inspiration into suitable designs.
- Strong communication skills, capable of articulating ideas clearly and confidently at all levels.
- Ability to respond positively to challenges, influencing effectively while remaining open to feedback.
- Organizational skills to prioritize tasks and deliver high-quality work.
