We are currently seeking a Category 2 Inspection Engineer for a permanent office-based role, working standard hours from Monday to Friday.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct inspections of Major, Intermediate, and Minor pressure systems (including steam) in accordance with the client's Quality Management System, WSE, and established procedures, adhering to The Control of Major Accident Hazards Regulations (COMAH) 2015 and Pressure Systems Safety Regulations 2000 (PSSR) & UKAS RG2 Accreditation for In-Service Inspection of Pressure Systems/Equipment.
- Act as the primary liaison between the inspection and integrity engineering teams.
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of inspection reports, cross-referenced with NDT reports as necessary.
- Assist in developing long-term and short-term inspection plans and scopes of work.
- Participate in expert groups to formulate Risk-Based Inspection (RBI) plans, considering Non-Intrusive Inspection (NII) guidelines.
- Monitor temporary repairs on a monthly basis.
- Collaborate with Technical Authorities, Corrosion Engineers, Area Inspectors, and Onshore Inspection Engineers as required.
- Perform technical reviews of completed workpacks and inspection reports.
- Conduct NDT duties as needed to support engineering inspections.
- Manage inspection and NDT equipment issued on-site.
- Coordinate and supervise Plant and NDT inspectors to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Issue permits to support inspection activities as necessary.
- Prepare detailed daily reports summarizing inspection progress and activities.
Experience & Qualifications
Applicants should possess an Incorporated Engineer status as defined by the Engineering Council or an equivalent qualification (e.g., relevant HNC with experience, NVQ Level IV Engineering), along with a minimum of 5 years' experience in a relevant engineering discipline, including at least one year in a role associated with in-service inspection of pressure systems.
