Job Title: Interim Senior Accountant

We are seeking an experienced Interim Senior Accountant to join our team at Hays Accountancy and Finance. As an Interim Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for providing financial advice and guidance to support the Council's finance team in delivering a comprehensive accounting service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide complex financial advice and guidance to the Council's finance team.
  • Assist in the preparation of annual revenue and capital budgets.
  • Monitor expenditure and income across the Council against budget plans and targets.
  • Prepare financial reports and statements for the Council.
  • Provide financial impact evaluation and analysis modelling to support the Council's decision-making process.
Requirements:
  • Chartered professional accountancy qualification (CIPFA, CIMA, ACCA, ACA, or equivalent).
  • Full membership of an accountancy professional body.
  • Substantial experience of budget preparation and control, financial reporting, and financial analysis.
  • Advanced knowledge of public sector finance and reporting requirements.
  • Ability to communicate and influence based on professional knowledge.
