Role Summary:

A Project Manager is required to manage a series of projects delivering upgrades/modifications to existing Transmission substation protection and control systems for National Grid and other customers in the Power Transmission industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage projects from inception to delivery, ensuring timely completion within demanding timescales.
  • Oversee project financials, ensuring projects are delivered within budget.
  • Lead and motivate a team of hardware, software, and installation engineers.
  • Ensure compliance with Quality, Environmental, Health & Safety standards.
  • Hold regular report and progress meetings with clients.
  • Assist in securing future business by cultivating customer expectations through excellent delivery.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrable project management experience within an engineering industry, preferably Power Transmission industry or similar regulated background.
  • Experience planning and scheduling work activities using Microsoft Project.
  • Effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Commercial acumen to identify and resolve early commercial and technical risks.
  • Demonstrable track record of achieving project timescales, margins, customer satisfaction, and quality.
  • Experience of subcontractor management.
  • Strong leadership skills, including team management experience.
  • Current driving license and willingness to travel.

Desirable Requirements:

  • Experience working with NEC3/4 contracts.
  • APM Practitioner Qualification or equivalent recognized Project Management Course.
  • Experience of Project Proposals and general bid work.
