About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Engineer to join our team at Bakkavor Barton Bread. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for managing a team of shift engineers, ensuring the delivery of scheduled work and reactive work, and maintaining the performance of processing equipment across the site.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Manage the engineering team to ensure delivery of scheduled work and reactive work, optimizing plant availability and managing technical specifications for ingredients, products, processes, and packaging.
  2. Implement agreed training and development plans to meet engineering and production needs, including ownership of the dynamic risk assessment process.
  3. Minimize engineering downtime, accurately log repairs, and monitor repair times, liaising with the planning and operations team to complete PPM in a timely manner.
  4. Ensure all stock is logged in and out of the stores area, highlighting any stock issues to the engineering team manager.
  5. Maintain standards of hygiene and good housekeeping appropriate to a quality food manufacturer.
About You
  1. Strong people management experience.
  2. A multi-skilled background.
  3. Experience completing both reactive and planned maintenance activity and small installations.
  4. Appropriate professional mechanical or electrical engineering qualifications and training.
  5. Thorough understanding of common mechanical and electrical systems.
  6. Good IT skills, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
