Job Role

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Social Worker to join our team as an ASYE/Supervising Social Worker. As a key member of our fostering services team, you will play a vital role in supporting foster parents and their families to achieve outstanding outcomes for children and young people in foster care.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting foster parents and their families to provide a safe, healthy, and nurturing environment for children and young people.
  • Monitoring the continued suitability and competence of foster parents, ensuring they meet the required standards.
  • Providing regular supervision to allocated foster parents, working in partnership with them to identify needs and develop strategies to address them.
  • Collaborating with other professionals to ensure children and young people receive the best possible support and care.
  • Participating in an out-of-hours support service to provide emergency support to foster families.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Social Work qualification and professional registration with Social Work England or equivalent.
  • Proven ability to produce high-quality report writing and a comprehensive working knowledge of relevant legislation and child safeguarding procedures.
  • The willingness and ability to travel extensively, including occasional nights away, and to transport children and young people in sometimes stressful or difficult situations.
  • A full driving license.
