**Job Summary**

We are seeking an experienced Imaging Technologist to join our Advanced Microscopy Facility at the University of Cambridge. As a key member of our team, you will provide technical support and training to researchers and students, operating and maintaining specialized imaging systems.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Provide expert technical support and training to researchers and students on advanced microscopy techniques and equipment.
  • Operate and maintain a range of imaging platforms, including super-resolution confocal microscopy and live cell imaging, and transmission and scanning electron microscopy.
  • Troubleshoot issues with equipment, samples, and experimental design.
  • Collaborate with researchers to optimize protocols and develop new techniques.
  • Contribute to facility management, including administering booking and recharge systems and implementing safety and operational procedures.
  • Deputize for the Facility Manager as needed.

**Requirements**

  • Extensive practical experience and specialist knowledge of confocal and widefield microscopy.
  • Strong IT and image analysis skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
  • Qualification to degree level or equivalent.
