About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Sheet Metal Worker to join our Operations division team at BAE Systems. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for fabricating and repairing metal components for our naval and commercial vessels.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work from drawings and guidance to fabricate metal components using various techniques, including burning, chamfering, and folding.
  • Operate machinery such as guillotines, rolling machines, and drilling machines, including CNC operation.
  • Perform tack welding and accurate marking off using measuring tools.
  • Use grinders and associated consumables while adhering to HAVS regulations.
  • Experience in use of strong-backs and fairing aids to prevent distortion.
  • Bending and forming of various gauges and types of plate.
  • Have an understanding of Q.C inspection or process experience.
Requirements
  • Good hand tool knowledge and experience in Sheet metal fabrication and different types of materials such as aluminium, stainless steel, and steel.
  • Ability to interpret and work from drawings and guidance as required.
