Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced AV Scenic Workshop Manager to join our team at Prospero Integrated. As a key member of our scenic construction team, you will be responsible for leading and developing our warehouse and workshop scenic team, including line management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership: Lead and develop our warehouse and workshop scenic team, including line management, to ensure the highest possible standards and deadlines are met.
  • Workshop Management: Manage the day-to-day tasking of the workshop and scenic warehouse team, including the construction and preparation process of our equipment.
  • Health and Safety: Maintain high standards of health and safety in the workshop and scenic warehouse.
  • Stock Management: Manage the stock of workshop materials and consumables.
  • Maintenance: Maintain workshop equipment and tools.
  • Design and Construction: Provide input on construction design and material specification for custom scenic elements and participate in hands-on construction of scenic products.
  • Communication: Regularly communicate with the Head of Scenic for day-to-day and forward planning, ensuring the best use of department resources.
  • Training and Development: Provide training where required and assist other departments as needed to meet the needs of the business.

Requirements

  • Experience: At least 5 years' experience in the professional live events industry with a specialism in scenic construction.
  • Leadership Skills: Self-motivation, with the ability to lead by example and work as part of a team.
  • Technical Skills: Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and CAD plans, good working knowledge of workshop tools and machinery, and excellent carpentry skills with a good working knowledge of various materials.
  • Advantageous Skills: Experience with CNC machines is an advantage but not essential.
