Position Overview
We are in search of adaptable Porters to fulfill various responsibilities within our organization. The primary focus of this role involves executing a variety of portering tasks, which encompass Pathology, Housekeeping, Catering, and Post room duties.
Your main responsibilities will include the safe and efficient collection and transfer of materials, equipment, and specimens throughout the facility. Additional tasks may arise, and necessary training will be provided to ensure you are well-equipped to handle them.
- Job Type: Full-time, permanent position requiring 40 hours of work per week.
- Shifts: 8-hour shifts according to a rota, covering operational hours from 7am to 10pm, including weekends.
- Salary: Competitive annual salary.

Key Responsibilities
- Deliver an efficient portering service, covering all related duties throughout the facility.
- Ensure the safe and effective transportation of goods, equipment, reports, and specimens within and across our facilities.
- Assist in the organization and storage of supplies in all Patient Services areas.
- Monitor stock levels and manage the delivery of linen across various floors.
- Collect and deliver pathology specimens from internal users of the Pathology Department.
Qualifications and Skills
- Previous portering experience in either an NHS or private healthcare setting.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Flexibility to adapt to varying workloads.
- Must possess physical fitness and comfort with remaining on foot throughout the shift.
