Ambulance Care Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Ambulance Care Assistant to join our team at South Central Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust. As an Ambulance Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing patient transport services, ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of patients to and from medical appointments.
Key Responsibilities- Driving Duties: You will be responsible for driving a long wheel-base vehicle with manual transmission, ensuring the safe transportation of patients and adhering to the Highway Code and Trust Policy guidelines.
- Vehicle Checks: You will be required to conduct daily vehicle checks to ensure the ambulance vehicle is roadworthy, including checks on oil, water, fuel, tyre pressure, and tyre tread condition.
- Patient Care: You will provide high-quality patient care, including administering ambulance nursing to an appropriate skill level, using moving patient equipment, and safely securing patients in the vehicle.
- Communication: You will operate communication systems supplied by the Trust, ensuring effective communication with patients, colleagues, and associated services.
- Documentation: You will accurately complete and administer information and documentation as necessary, in accordance with current General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) requirements.
- Essential Qualifications: Full manual UK Driving Licence with no more than 3 points for speeding.
- Essential Knowledge and Experience: Previous experience of working in a customer care role, previous experience of using online systems and email.
- Desirable Qualifications and Experience: Previous experience of working with patients or clients in a care setting, previous shift working experience, previous NHS experience.
