As we advance in our growth and expansion to meet the demands of the evolving nuclear energy sector, Boccard UK Limited, a prominent specialist in engineering, manufacturing, construction, and maintenance within the nuclear energy domain, is seeking a skilled and experienced Quality Manager to enhance our Quality Team.
The Quality Manager will report directly to the Senior Project Quality Manager and will play a crucial role in establishing quality benchmarks for project delivery, ensuring that quality assurance protocols are effectively implemented to meet those benchmarks.
The responsibilities of the Quality Manager include:
- Developing, reviewing, and maintaining project processes to ensure the successful execution and completion of the piping support project.
- Encouraging a Right First-Time approach to guarantee the final quality of project deliverables.
- Fostering and maintaining a Nuclear Safety Culture within the team.
- Ensuring that manufacturing and construction processes are efficient and aligned with current standards.
- Serving as the primary contact for all defined Project Quality matters.
- Ensuring adherence to established procedures throughout the project lifecycle.
- Overseeing quality assurance for manufacturing activities, including necessary NDT and dimensional checks, along with maintaining associated records.
- Monitoring project performance through relevant indicators such as Safety First, On Time, On Specification, On Budget, and Customer Satisfaction.
- Understanding and exceeding the expectations of both internal and external clients.
- Communicating quality-related matters with clients effectively.
- Providing constructive feedback to project teams and leadership regarding quality concerns.
- Analyzing and resolving quality issues related to process performance and requirements.
- Managing data related to KPIs and identifying areas for improvement, while preparing performance reports for stakeholders.
- Traveling to suppliers to ensure quality and process capabilities are met.
- Familiarizing oneself with company policies and training the team to adhere to guidelines.
Ideal candidates will possess:
- Experience in a similar role, preferably within the nuclear, oil and gas, or related sectors.
- A quality-focused mindset.
- Demonstrated leadership qualities to drive team improvements.
- Strong IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Office and Excel.
- A positive, solution-oriented attitude with strong problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Resilience and adaptability.
- A valid UK driving license.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Minimum HNC in Engineering or a related field.
- Comprehensive knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 19443, welding, and NDT standards.
- Familiarity with RCCM and related requirements.
- Understanding of Nuclear New Build requirements.
- Advanced knowledge of modern welding techniques.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
- Fluency in English, both written and verbal.
- Strong organizational and analytical problem-solving skills.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel.
