About the Role
The Senior Civil Engineer will be responsible for leading a team of engineers and technicians in the design and delivery of civil engineering projects. The successful candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering, with experience in project management, team leadership, and technical expertise.
Main Responsibilities
- Project Management
- Develop and implement project plans, timelines, and budgets
- Coordinate with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure project delivery
- Monitor and report on project progress, identifying and mitigating risks
- Team Leadership
- Lead and manage a team of engineers and technicians
- Develop and implement training programs to enhance team skills and knowledge
- Coach and mentor team members to achieve career goals
- Technical Expertise
- Develop and implement technical solutions to complex problems
- Provide technical guidance and support to team members
- Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices
Key Requirements
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in civil engineering, with a strong background in project management and team leadership
- At least 5 years' experience working in the UK, with knowledge of UK building regulations and codes of practice
- Chartered Engineer or member of a professional body working towards achieving Chartership status
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office packages, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Ability to work as part of a team, achieving tight deadlines and communicating effectively
Desirable Skills and Experience
- Previous experience working on frameworks with utility companies in the UK or Ireland
- Design experience in the water sector, energy, commercial, institutional, educational, residential, and light and heavy industries
