Job Title: Apprentice Credit Controller

This is a fixed-term contract with an immediate start, providing an opportunity to develop your skills in credit control and administration.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Chase domestic and export debts using various communication channels to achieve targets.
  2. Resolve sales account queries, reconcile accounts, and collaborate with other departments and business development managers.
  3. Process sterling and currency receipts onto the accounts system and bank any cheque receipts.
  4. Prepare information for senior credit controllers to initiate legal proceedings when necessary.
  5. Assist with setting up new customer sales accounts, obtain and analyze credit reports, and issue/review credit limits according to company policy.
  6. Monitor sales orders and liaise with customer care and dispatch teams.
  7. Perform month-end procedures, including reconciliations, running reports, and sending statements.

Additional Duties:

  1. Reconcile petty cash and foreign currencies.
  2. File documents and maintain accurate records.
  3. Provide weekly reports to senior credit controllers to review collection targets.

Requirements:

Maths and English GCSE (or equivalent) qualifications are required.

Desirable Skills:

Previous credit control or debt collection experience is beneficial, as comprehensive training will be provided.

Essential Skills:

Good written and spoken communication skills are necessary.

Intermediate-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word is required.
