Apprentice Credit Controller

This is a fixed-term contract with an immediate start, providing an opportunity to develop your skills in credit control and administration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Chase domestic and export debts using various communication channels to achieve targets.
- Resolve sales account queries, reconcile accounts, and collaborate with other departments and business development managers.
- Process sterling and currency receipts onto the accounts system and bank any cheque receipts.
- Prepare information for senior credit controllers to initiate legal proceedings when necessary.
- Assist with setting up new customer sales accounts, obtain and analyze credit reports, and issue/review credit limits according to company policy.
- Monitor sales orders and liaise with customer care and dispatch teams.
- Perform month-end procedures, including reconciliations, running reports, and sending statements.
Additional Duties:
- Reconcile petty cash and foreign currencies.
- File documents and maintain accurate records.
- Provide weekly reports to senior credit controllers to review collection targets.
Requirements:
Maths and English GCSE (or equivalent) qualifications are required.
Desirable Skills:
Previous credit control or debt collection experience is beneficial, as comprehensive training will be provided.
Essential Skills:
Good written and spoken communication skills are necessary.
Intermediate-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word is required.
