About the Role
The Greenwich PCN Alliance is seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and effective supply of prescribed medication to patients across our primary care network.
Key Responsibilities
As a Pharmacy Technician, your key responsibilities will include:
1. Medicines Optimisation
a. Implement repeat prescribing and repeat dispensing processes to ensure a centralised, safe, and effective medicines optimisation process across PCN practices.
b. Agree processes for appliance requests, including stoma, continence, dressings, and ACBS products.
c. Champion electronic repeat dispensing (eRD) and support staff training, working closely with community pharmacy.
2. Patient Safety
a. Run searches and action MHRA CAS alerts to ensure patient safety.
b. Support patient queries related to medicines and refer complex queries to pharmacists, nurses, or GPs as needed.
3. Quality Improvement Projects
a. Identify patients suitable for virtual clinics to support QIPP implementation.
b. Identify patients who have not been issued anticoagulant, lithium, steroid, or antiplatelet cards and ensure read codes are updated in patient notes.
4. Health Innovation Network (HIN) Project
a. Identify patients and risk stratify using UCLP search templates on EMIS.
b. Contact patients for up to date home blood pressure readings if available.

Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council as a Pharmacy Technician
BTEC/NVQ3 Pharmacy services (or equivalent)
Experience
Essential
Experience working as a qualified, registered pharmacy technician
Desirable
Experience working in primary care or a GP practice
