Exciting Opportunity for Overhead Line Design Engineers

Our client, a leading player in the UK transmission and distribution sector, is seeking talented Overhead Line Design Engineers to join their dynamic engineering team in the UK. As a key contributor to the net zero 2050 initiative, they are committed to delivering essential new build infrastructure across the country.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct overhead line design studies to support construction and consultancy projects.
  • Produce electrical line performance assessments and safety studies.
  • Create and utilise OHL support models within transmission design frameworks.
  • Evaluate, select, and quantify transmission line components for projects.
  • Ensure safety by design throughout the design process.
  • Drive innovation in project solutions.
  • Deliver design outputs to internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements:
  • Basic understanding of overhead transmission line design.
  • Proficiency in PLS CADD/Tower for developing design outputs.
  • Fluency in spoken and written English.
  • Ability to work as part of a dispersed and remote team, communicating effectively through collaboration tools such as Microsoft Teams.
  • Proficiency in CAD design software.
  • Experience creating PLS CADD models from topographical survey data.
