Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Employee Relations Specialist to join our team at Acuity Care Group Limited. As an Employee Relations Specialist, you will play a crucial role in managing and resolving employee relations issues across all our business units.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a wide range of employee relations cases, including disciplinary actions, grievances, performance issues, absence management, and workplace disputes.
- Provide expert advice and guidance to managers on employee relations issues, ensuring decisions are aligned with company policies and legal requirements.
- Conduct investigations into employee complaints and allegations, ensuring thorough and impartial processes.
- Assist in the development, review, and implementation of HR policies and procedures related to employee relations.
- Ensure that managers and employees are well-informed of employee relations policies and that these are applied consistently across all business units.
- Keep up to date with changes in employment law and best practices, recommending updates to company policies as needed.
- Work closely with the HR team to share knowledge and ensure consistent handling of employee relations matters across the organisation.
- Ensure all employee relations cases are documented accurately and confidentially, maintaining comprehensive records in line with GDPR and company policies.
- Monitor employee relations trends and provide regular reports and insights to senior HR management to inform strategic decision-making.
- Act as a mediator in resolving conflicts between employees or between employees and managers, aiming for amicable and constructive outcomes.
- Promote a culture of open communication and early intervention to prevent escalation of conflicts.
- Support initiatives to improve employee engagement and well-being, addressing any issues that may negatively impact the work environment.
- Participate in employee feedback and engagement surveys, helping to analyse results and develop action plans for improvement.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an Employee Relations Specialist or in a similar employee relations-focused HR role, preferably within the healthcare or social care sector.
- Strong knowledge of UK employment law and best practices in employee relations.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
- Experience in handling complex employee relations cases, including investigations, grievances, and disciplinary procedures.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple cases, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- CIPD qualification (Level 5 or above) or equivalent experience.
- Care sector experience is essential for this role.
- Willingness to commit to professional development and advancement.
