Job Summary:
The Comhairle nan Eilean Siar is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our team. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting children and young people with additional support needs (ASN) to achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist teaching staff in meeting the educational, personal care, and welfare needs of children and young people with ASN.
- Undertake playground and lunchtime supervision to ensure a safe and supportive environment.
- Support the inclusion of all pupils in the setting, promoting a culture of respect and understanding.
- Contribute to the health and well-being of children and young people, following the Getting It Right for Every Child (GIRFEC) approach.
Requirements:
- Experience of working with children, either as a parent or in a voluntary or professional capacity.
- Understanding of the basic needs of children and the ability to work effectively with others as part of a team.
- Fluency in Gaelic is essential for this post.
- Membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme is required for regulated work with children.
