Job Title: Financial Controller

Dynamic Planner is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Controller to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the company, including management of direct reports, financial planning and analysis, and financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage a team of three direct reports responsible for accounts receivable, accounts payable, and management accounts.
  • Oversee and ensure the correct processing of all transactions, ensuring the team follows correct procedure.
  • Continuously look for ways to improve processes within the finance function, especially with regards to sales invoicing, procure to pay, and general automation.
  • Ownership of the revenue number, including associated processes and generation of insightful reporting.
  • Production of a suite of SaaS metrics and KPIs for the business, finance, and private equity investors.
  • Management of the month-end process, ensuring it is completed within five working days and analysis is comprehensive and easy to understand.
  • Business partnering with budget holders on a monthly basis to ensure they fully understand their results and know what they can do to influence their numbers in a positive way.
  • Assist with the preparation of the annual budget and quarterly re-forecasts in collaboration with budget holders.
  • Assist with the preparation of reporting for private equity investors on a monthly and ad-hoc basis.
  • Design, build, and maintain a weekly cash flow forecast.
  • Full responsibility for ad-hoc projects, such as implementation of new software and managing the cleansing of historic data sets.
  • Ownership of the resolution of any queries or issues directed towards finance in a friendly and timely manner.
Requirements:
  • ACA or ACCA qualified with at least five years of PQE.
  • Experience in an SME environment is essential.
  • Broad finance experience with the ability to think through and solve complex problems independently.
  • Having worked in a SaaS or software business previously would be an advantage.
  • Proven experience of improving inefficient processes.
  • A focus on providing great customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
  • A proven track record of effectively managing and developing finance teams.
  • A desire to take ownership of tasks, be hands-on, and see them through to completion.
  • A deadline-driven mentality.
