We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behaviour Mentor to join our team at Prospero Teaching. As a Behaviour Mentor, you will play a vital role in supporting children and young people with complex needs and challenging behaviours associated with learning disabilities, autistic spectrum conditions, and mental health problems.

About the Role:
  • Deliver person-centred support to individuals who require 1:1 assistance due to various reasons, such as anxiety, exclusion, speech and language difficulties, physical and mental health issues, disabilities, and learning difficulties.
  • Work collaboratively with the school team to develop and implement behaviour support plans that cater to the unique needs of each individual.
  • Utilise de-escalation techniques and strategies to manage challenging behaviours, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for all students.
  • Build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues, promoting a culture of empathy and understanding.
  • Participate in professional training and development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in behaviour support and education.
Requirements:
  • Experience working with children and young people who display challenging behaviour.
  • De-escalation training would be advantageous.
  • Up-to-date safeguarding training issued in the last year (essential, with training provided if necessary).
  • Prevent awareness and FGM training.
