Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Structural Design Engineer to join our team at Essential Employment. This role involves a comprehensive understanding of structural challenges related to various construction projects, including new developments, renovations, and the restoration of diverse building types.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert advice on structural issues for both residential and commercial properties, including educational institutions and healthcare facilities.
  • Conduct structural design for various materials such as reinforced concrete, timber, masonry, and steel.
  • Perform feasibility studies and structural assessments to ensure project viability.
  • Carry out detailed structural surveys and evaluations to assess stability and condition.
  • Evaluate subsidence and ground stability, providing necessary recommendations.
  • Offer guidance on Party Wall matters in compliance with relevant legislation.
  • Oversee long-term monitoring and health and safety inspections of properties.
  • Ensure compliance with Building Regulations, particularly Part A, Structure.
  • Assess environmental impacts and conduct contaminated land evaluations, including flood risk and drainage strategies.
  • Manage demolition projects and land remediation efforts from initial feasibility through to project completion.
  • Prepare comprehensive briefs for contractors, covering all aspects from site assessments to structural detailing.
  • Review contractor outputs and develop site remediation strategies as needed.
  • Maintain a strong knowledge base in desk studies, site investigations, and structural condition assessments.

This role is essential for maintaining the integrity and safety of our construction projects, ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards while delivering high-quality engineering solutions.
