Adept is partnering with a leading manufacturing firm known for its exceptional orthopaedic product offerings. We are in search of a skilled Senior Manufacturing Engineer to become a vital part of our client's workforce.

Position Overview:
Reporting directly to the Quality Control & Process Engineering Manager, the Senior Manufacturing Engineer will play a crucial role in delivering frontline assistance across all production operations. This encompasses CNC machining and programming (CAD/CAM), as well as providing specialized process support in areas such as cleaning, degreasing, polishing, coating, jig and fixture design, tooling development, production documentation, custom manufacturing, and capital projects. Additionally, the role entails ensuring that all validations, including IQ, OQ, and PQ, Engineering Studies, documentation, and records comply with the Quality Management System (QMS) ISO13485 standards for medical device manufacturing. Collaboration with process engineering, regulatory, quality, purchasing, and new product development teams will be essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Generate technical reports to facilitate process modifications.
  • Oversee the daily tasks of the Manufacturing Support Engineer and Production Engineer, conduct performance evaluations, and identify training requirements.
  • Employ statistical data analysis, statistical process control, Six Sigma methodologies, and lean manufacturing principles.
  • Comply with the company's Change Control procedures.
  • Design and execute Experiments (DOE).
  • Develop work instructions, routings, BOMs, SOPs, and transition processes for online staff.
  • Conduct time and motion studies to enhance manufacturing processes.
  • Manage project-related tasks, including creating Gantt charts and providing precise project timelines.
  • Collaborate with Process & CI Engineers to specify, commission, and validate capital equipment.
  • Evaluate factory flow and lean layouts to maximize the efficiency of personnel and equipment.
  • Identify and assess emerging technological advancements in machinery, software, cutting tools, materials, and processes to reduce setup times and design jigs, fixtures, and specialized tooling.


Candidate Profile:

  • Degree, HND, or HNC in an Engineering discipline.
  • Collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge and experience in lean/continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Proficient CAD-CAM-Vericut user with SolidWorks drafting experience, capable of producing and modifying engineering drawings.
  • Experience with Esprit CAM is a plus.
  • Strong proficiency in SolidWorks and ability to create engineering drawings.
  • Solid understanding of measurement techniques and equipment - Gauge R&R - MSA.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Methodical thinker with a keen eye for detail.
  • Experience in data analysis, preferably using Minitab.
  • Strong project management capabilities.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
