Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Antenna Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Airbus Defence and Space Limited. As a key member of our Antenna Mechanical Engineering group, you will play a crucial role in designing and developing innovative mechanical solutions for our satellite antennas.

About the Role

  • Develop and lead the design of mechanical structures and systems for our satellite antennas, working closely with RF experts and other supporting functions.
  • Collaborate with the project manager to ensure integration with the overall project plan and deliver on-quality, on-time, and on-cost mechanical products.
  • Manage the mechanical design project team, including schedule, budget, risk, and opportunity, to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Develop and qualify new products, processes, and methods for building antennas faster, better, and cheaper.

Requirements

  • A sound knowledge of mechanical design principles, ideally for space hardware/equipment.
  • A strong understanding of mechanical and thermal analysis techniques, ideally within a space environment.
  • Experience of supporting mechanical tests and knowledge of engineering materials and typical manufacturing methods, capabilities, and limitations.
