Senior Design Manager

Fawkes & Reece South is seeking an experienced Senior Design Manager to lead the second-stage design process and work site-based throughout construction on an £80m new build industrial scheme.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage the second-stage design process through to contract and start on site.
- Lead the design development for packages of works.
- Chair regular design team meetings.
- Manage consultant design teams and specialist sub-contractor design teams.
- Agree information required schedules and ensure key dates are achieved.
- Review construction design information for buildability, compliance with contractors' proposals, employers' requirements, budget, and current building legislation.
- Identify opportunities for value engineering where appropriate.
- Proactively resolve issues.
- Oversee the smooth and timely delivery of detailed design information for procurement and construction throughout the build process to completion.
Fawkes & Reece South is a leading national main contractor with a proven track record in delivering complex new build schemes in large industrial, data centre, commercial, education, and residential markets.
Requirements:- Either an Engineering or Construction delivery background or an Architectural background.
- Excellent technical and commercial knowledge.
- Strong understanding of construction methodology, materials, and systems.
- Procurement lead times.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Strong planning and problem-solving ability.
- Initiative and a positive approach.
We are looking for a highly driven, positive, and ambitious individual who can work well within a large team dynamic. Previous experience of working on large industrial projects is essential for this role, and specific experience of working on a cold storage project would be highly advantageous.
