About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Automation Specialist to join our Kettering Engineering team at Danone. As an Automation Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing plant, including the maintenance and repair of automation equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on automation equipment, including PLCs, inverters, and WinCC systems.
- Provide technical support for factory PLC, SCADA, and IT Network systems.
- Organize calibrations and legally required technical checks.
- Establish and oversee a lock-off system.
- Work collaboratively with the production team to identify and resolve issues.
- Develop and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and productivity.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience in a similar environment, preferably within high-care food manufacturing.
- Time-served and qualified maintenance engineer with multi-skilled or electrical bias.
- City and Guilds or NVQ3 qualified in an engineering or maintenance discipline.
- Basic PC skills, including MS Excel, MS Word, and SAP.
- Knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Knowledge of safe working practices and hygiene standards in a food environment.
- Knowledge of automated process equipment and control systems.
- Desirable: knowledge of sterilization and filling processes, Tetra Pak, Galdi, or similar packaging machines.
