Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled HGV/LGV Class 1 Yard Operative to join our dynamic team at Menzies Distribution, ensuring exceptional service delivery.
Key Information:
- Salary: £14.20 Per Hour
- Shift Pattern: Rotating schedule from Monday to Thursday 18:00-05:00 and Friday 18:00-22:00
- Weekly Hours: 48 Hours
- Annual Leave: 28 Days
- Onsite Parking: Available
- Payment Frequency: Monthly
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough vehicle and trailer safety inspections before starting shifts, adhering to necessary documentation and protocols.
- Ensure that all vehicle loads are secure, stable, and properly positioned.
- Accurately verify load documentation and delivery records.
- Efficiently check in returned goods, ensuring documentation is precise.
- Maintain constant communication with the Traffic Office.
- Keep vehicles clean and utilize all equipment safely as per operational guidelines.
- Operate vehicles in a safe manner, ensuring the safety of oneself and other road users.
- Adhere to safe working practices consistently.
- Perform any other reasonable tasks as instructed to uphold quality service standards.
- Manage rachets, straps, and corner placements effectively.
Candidate Requirements:
- Possession of a full UK C+E driving licence.
- A minimum of 12 months prior Class 1 driving experience.
- Previous experience in shunting is advantageous.
- No more than 6 penalty points on your driving licence.
- No history of disqualifications.
- Strong understanding of driver hours and Working Time Directive regulations.
- This role may involve physical tasks, which should be considered when applying.
