Job Description

W Talent is seeking an experienced Assembly Team Leader to join our team in Ripley, Derbyshire. As a key member of our manufacturing department, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the assembly team, ensuring that production targets are met, quality standards are maintained, and safety protocols are followed.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead, motivate, and manage a team of assembly workers to achieve production goals.
  • Provide training, mentoring, and support to team members.
  • Conduct regular team meetings to communicate production goals, safety updates, and other important information.
  • Monitor team performance, provide feedback, and conduct performance evaluations.
Production Management:
  • Plan and organize daily assembly tasks to ensure timely completion of production schedules.
  • Monitor production processes to ensure adherence to quality standards and specifications.
  • Coordinate with the Production Manager to address any issues that may impact production, such as equipment malfunctions or supply shortages.
  • Ensure efficient use of materials, labor, and equipment.
  • Implement and monitor quality control procedures to ensure products meet company standards.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement solutions to increase efficiency and productivity.
  • Encourage and support team members in suggesting and implementing process improvements.
  • Participate in lean manufacturing initiatives and other continuous improvement projects.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years Team Leader or Supervisory experience with the ability to drive manufacturing improvements.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Proficiency understanding of assembly processes and quality control standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a team, with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve production issues.
  • Familiarity with H&S workplace regulations and best practices.
