Role Overview:
As a Social Worker focused on children in care, you will play a vital role in the lives of vulnerable children. Your primary responsibility will be to manage a caseload of looked-after children, ensuring their needs are prioritized and that they achieve positive outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Overseeing a caseload of looked-after children, ensuring that their care plans are executed effectively and assessed regularly.
- Creating and implementing care strategies that foster stability, well-being, and favorable results for the children.
- Establishing and nurturing strong, trusting relationships with children, caregivers, and families.
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, external organizations, and other professionals to coordinate necessary services and resources.
- Participating in meetings, including child protection conferences, reviews, and legal proceedings.
- Ensuring adherence to relevant laws, policies, and procedures concerning child protection and the care of looked-after children.
Qualifications:
- Registered Social Worker with Social Work England.
- Demonstrated experience in social work, particularly with looked-after children or in a children in care setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to forge effective relationships with children, caregivers, and professionals.
- In-depth knowledge of relevant laws, policies, and procedures in social care and child protection.
