Overview:

Simpson Judge Ltd, a leading law firm, is seeking a highly experienced Residential Property Solicitor to take on a newly created position as Technical Lead within the Conveyancing team.

This is an ideal opportunity for a seasoned Property Solicitor looking to transition into a leadership role, overseeing a team of solicitors and ensuring compliance with regulations.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in Residential Property law, with a minimum of 7 years' post-qualification experience. They will be responsible for providing technical guidance, developing policies, and collaborating with the IT team to improve the case management system.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Group Compliance Director to ensure advice provided is compliant with all regulations.
  • Oversee a team of solicitors, including direct reports and trainee solicitors, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Develop and implement policies to ensure compliance with law, regulation, and best practice.
  • Collaborate with the IT team to improve the development of the case management system.
  • Ensure the team is complying with law, regulation, protocols, and best practice to the conveyancing process.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 7 years' post-qualification experience as a Solicitor in Residential Property law.
  • Experience managing a complex caseload of varied Residential Property files, including sales, purchases, remortgages, leasehold, lease extensions, SDLT requirements, building regulations, and bridging transactions.
  • Equity release experience is highly beneficial.
  • Highly technical abilities and knowledge within Residential Conveyancing.
  • Business development experience is ideal, but not essential.
  • Managerial experience, mentoring staff, and supporting trainee solicitors throughout qualifications is highly desirable.
