Job Description

Procurement Manager

Clearfield Recruitment Limited is seeking an experienced Procurement Manager to join their team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a purchasing department, coaching staff, and developing a team that is proactive and visionary. They will liaise with customers, set and achieve targets, and develop themselves and the team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Producing detailed analysis on client and supplier spend
  • Assisting with forecasting and cost reduction process implementations
  • Ensuring that goods, materials, and services are procured in accordance with specified company requirements
  • Managing a team of two direct reports, including a Procurement Assistant and a Warehouse Controller
Other Key Duties
  • Quotation and tender activities
  • Conducting cost analysis reviews
  • Maintaining electronic and manual filing systems and records
  • Preparing and processing requisitions and purchase orders
  • Sourcing new supply chains where necessary
  • Building and developing relationships with existing key suppliers
  • Supporting other team members and working well as a team
  • Using analytical and problem-solving skills to resolve queries
  • Investigating queries and discrepancies with requisitions, receipts, orders, and invoices
  • Acting professionally and contributing positively to the Procurement function
  • Liaising with vendors on rate adjustments and incorrect materials
  • Conducting negotiations with suppliers
  • Developing additional or alternative sources of supply and maintaining lists of accepted vendors
  • Verifying receipt of goods and services and authorizing accounts for payments
  • Raising and maintaining purchase orders as required
  • Dealing with internal and external site enquiries in a friendly and professional manner
  • Raising, maintaining, and amending product and supplier codes as required
  • Mediating rebates and buying incentives
  • Providing detailed breakdowns of client spend
  • Detailed analysis of spend and supplier spend
  • Assisting with high-level forecasting
Requirements
  • Relevant experience in a similar industry, with CIPS certification advantageous
  • Prior experience in the construction or engineering industry, with a commercial office and projects environment background
  • Strong PC literacy, including Microsoft Office Word and Excel
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with telephone skills
  • High levels of personal organization, with a target focus and attention to detail
  • A team player with the ability to collaborate effectively, with interpersonal skills and the ability to relate to staff at all levels
  • The ability to identify opportunities to learn new skills and specialist knowledge, with a commitment to personal professional development
  • Self-motivation, proactivity, and a results-oriented approach, with a high work ethic, flexibility, loyalty, and honesty
  • A manual driver's license

This is a permanent, full-time position working 07:30am-5pm, Monday-Friday. The position offers a competitive salary and benefits package.
