Senior Ecologist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Ecologist to join our team in Bedford, London, or Woodbridge (Suffolk). As a Senior Ecologist, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality ecological services to our clients.

• Manage and lead ecological projects, including preliminary ecological appraisals, EcIA, and protected species surveys.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, including landscape architecture and arboriculture, to deliver integrated projects.
• Develop and implement ecological mitigation strategies, including licensing and negotiation with clients and project teams.
• Prepare fee proposals for major and multidisciplinary projects.
• Stay up-to-date with planning, legal, and regulatory frameworks, and apply this knowledge to deliver high-quality ecological services.

• First or second-class degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent.
• Full membership of CIEEM.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience after becoming a full member of CIEEM.
• Experience in large, multi-disciplinary projects, including EPS mitigation licenses and/or survey licenses.
• Ability to recognize lowland UK habitat types, and have in-depth knowledge of their ecology and management.
• Botanical ID skills sufficient to undertake surveys.
• Detailed knowledge of UK species and habitat legislation.
